Comparing to the October Food Security PDM there was an increase percentage of respondent have said "Yes" they have gone to sleep at night hungry because there was no food. –referring to question 8 and 9

In addition a question was asked around if women who are pregnant or breast feeding have to go to bed without food because there is not enough food. There was an increase total 0f 60% respondents who have said "Yes". –referring to question 10

The Government of Vanuatu, with the guidance of the Recovery Operations Centre (ROC) conducted a Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) with support from the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Pacific Community (SPC). The PDNA, which took place during the months of April and May 2023, was implemented in collaboration with ADB, FAO, UNFPA, UNWOMEN, UNICEF, WHO, ILO, the World Bank.

Cyclone Pam Post Disaster Needs Assessment

Between March 12 and 14, 2015, Tropical Cyclone Pam struck Vanuatu as an extremely destructive Category 5 cyclone, with estimated wind speeds of 250km/h and wind gusts that peaked at around 320km/h. At approximately 11 p.m. local time, the center of the cyclone passed east of Efate Island, which is home to the capital city of Port Vila, and then continued southward, passing just west of Erromango Island and Tanna Island.

President for Torba Province, Erick Shedrack says the province recognizes and acknowledges every assistance towards the construction and establishment of the new National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) in Torba.

Mr. Shedrack made the remarks during the opening of the new disaster building last Friday.
